"Great service, mixed crowd (various ages) and cozy feel of intimate bars from yesteryear.
Place is packed after 8pm so if there's a way to call for a table, do. Otherwise you'll have to keep your eyes peeled to grab a free seat or stand at the bar all night.
Cannot wait to come back to watch the jazz trio on Saturday nights!"
"Fantastic delicious & creative food. I ordered the whole wheat spaghetti, as well as split the baked ricotta appetizer and chocolate "hostess cupcake" dessert. The spaghetti was simple but flavorful--a bit spicy with spinach, tomatoes, and chilis. The baked ricotta baked with pesto and ramps was awesome and went well with the grilled sourdough bread. The chocolate "hostess cupcake" had a unique orange infusion which I appreciated despite not typically liking orange desserts. My friend liked her black pepper cavatappi. Overall, great new restaurant! I hope to come back and try the pizzas."
"Bucket list restaurant finally checked off! Had a fantastic dinner here with my BF. We shared the frito misto appetizer (perfection) followed by the tagliatelle and burger. We were super full but had to try the rhubarb sundae (amazing) and chocolate pecan tart (phenomenal) for dessert. Everything was simply delicious and the service was great. Definitely will return."
"Love this place. I've eaten at De Maria twice now and it was bomb each time. So healthy but also so delicious and filling. Loved the expansive outdoor seating area because I could bring my dog. I have to admit, I was really disappointed when Ken & Cook closed down. But De Maria is a great replacement. I do really miss Ken & Cook's bottomless brunch though especially in their dark, downstairs area so it would be great if De Maria could offer a similar experience.."
"The mix of Champagne Bar, Speakeasy, Cozy seating and Wednesday night Jazz make's this one of my favorite date places in NYC"
...it's dark in there, very dark. Once your eyes adjust though, you wont even notice. By that time you'll probably be through your first cocktail and REALLY not notice.
Interesting spooky mansion-type ambiance. More of a couples spot/date night than a hangout spot for groups. It's quiet and low key and you can be on your own personal red-velvety couch cozied up sipping some fine cocktails.
Definitely worth a visit.
